2009 Decoy Festival Poster Competition
Congratulations to Kelley Nelson -- this year's poster competition
winner!

This year marks the Twenty-Second Annual Core Sound Decoy
Festival and we need Decoy Festival poster entries for our annual
poster competition. The poster to the left is last
year's winning entry by Kelley Nelson.
The Decoy Festival Poster Contest, in its ninth year, is
sponsored by the Core Sound Decoy Carvers Guild. The
competition gives local artists the opportunity to submit the
entry used on Decoy Festival posters, advertising flyers, and
apparel.
A cash prize of $250.00 is awarded to the winning
artist.
The featured carver for 2009 is Dan Robinson of
Ocracoke, NC, and the decoy is a Snow Goose.
The winning poster is chosen by secret ballot in which the
general members of the Core Sound Decoy Carvers Guild who attend
the regularly scheduled meeting in April vote on their favorite
entry. |
The rules and an entry form are available by download here or
you may pick up an entry packet at the "H. Curt Salter" Guild
Building on Harkers Island Road.
This year's poster competition is
now closed. We look forward to your entries next
year!

New Poster Competition Chairman
We have a new Decoy Festival Poster Competition chairman this
year, Amie Talton of Stella. You may know Amie as our
newsletter editor and be familiar with her outstanding
work producing our quarterly newsletter publication.
We want to acknowledge former Poster Compeition chairman, Sue
Fulcher, with a very special thank you all the years of her
hard work with this contest! This year Sue handed the
reins of the Poster Competition over to Amie.
The Decoy Festival Poster is a very important part of our
annual Decoy Festival and we greatly appreciate Amie
taking this on for the Guild.
All Core Sound Decoy Festival and Core Sound Decoy Guild
posters, logos, merchandise and artwork are protected by
copyright and are sole property of the Core Sound Decoy Carvers
Guild.
